Cody, Wyoming

August 24th, 2020 by Chris Taulborg (SoSimple Support)

After driving through Yellowstone and forest fire smoke, we arrived at Cody, WY. I had no idea what to expect with this stop, but was very pleasantly surprised - the surrounding terrain looked great for mountain biking, and we quickly found out about the town's famous rodeo (which we got tickets for and attended - what a blast!).

We stayed at the KOA on the far side of town. It was quiet and they had probably the nicest KOA pool area we've ever experienced, which also included a kiddie pool and hot tub!

A few weeks previous, we ordered a new bike for Brom. Because of COVID, it was near impossible to find one anywhere in the entire country, but as luck would have it, our old bike shop in Kansas City (Erik's) happened to have the exact size and model we were looking for! So we paid over the phone and had it shipped out to Wyoming. All that was left was some basic assembly :).

While in town, we also made a stop over at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West Museum. Inside the museum were multiple exhibits, including an enormous gun library and vault that took over an hour to get through by itself!

I was able to sneak in a few rides, and was very pleasantly surprised about how great the trail system is in Cody! What a blast. Brom and I also were able to get out for a ride at the state park near our campground for a fun downhill ride to break in his new bike.
