Grant Kohrs Ranch NHS, Henry's Lake & Yellowstone National Park
August 16th, 2020
Grant-Kohrs Ranch National Historic Site, Deer Lodge, MT
Sadly, after a month of wonderful experiences, it was time to leave (our favorite place) Northern Montana. We headed South towards Henry's Lake, Idaho. Our one-night halfway-point stop was in Deer Lodge, MT. As luck would have it, there happened to be a National Historic Site in town, which I discovered on accident while running to Ace Hardware to get some supplies.
Henry's Lake, Idaho
On the way to Henry's Lake, we made a quick pit stop at a visitor center near the Yellowstone River. It was a great place to stretch our legs and enjoy the scenery.
Arriving at Henry's Lake was awesome! We had one of the few full-hookup campsites and a great view.
Halfway through our stay... wildfire smoke crept in. And kept creeping in. Check out these photos, taken from the same spot but 1 day apart:
We made a few visits into Yellowstone National Park and enjoyed going to a couple different hot spring areas. We also decided to drive through Yellowstone and do a hike on our way to Cody, WY.
