Grand Junction, CO

September 6th, 2020 by Chris Taulborg (SoSimple Support)

Next up: Grand Junction, Colorado. I had stopped here a couple times previously on my way out to Moab, but never for more than an overnight stay. This time, I opted for a full week to give the area more chance - and boy am I glad I did! What a hidden gem! Absolutely amazing hiking and mountain biking just minutes from town. I probably shouldn't even be blogging about it, I am not sure I want the "secret" to get out.

Pro Tip: watch out for poison ivy, it definitely grows here!

I will let the pictures do the the majority of the work in this post, but suffice to say we spent most of our time hiking in the Colorado Monument or nearby. I was also able to get a couple rides in with Brett, a friend of a friend who I had met a couple years ago - awesome, awesome dude!

This hike was a lot of fun, even with the wildfire smoke. We definitely ran through a lot of poison ivy when we got to the end, but thankfully realized it, and when we got back to the truck quickly scrubbed down with hand sanitizer and water, which did the trick!

I love how excellent the design of Colorado's mask mandate posters are. I'm pretty sure I'm wearing it correctly based on their graphic, but you be the judge.

Clearly covering the eyes is the most important part...
Now I'm safe to drive, according to Colorado's poster
